St. Mary’s National School continues its partnership with Doon Social Farm Project for 2025: Growing Together for a Greener Future

St. Mary’s National School is proud to announce its continued participation in the exciting Doon Social Farm project for 2025. This initiative offers a unique opportunity for our pupils to engage in hands-on learning experiences that promote sustainability, wellbeing, and community connection.

The Doon Social Farm project encourages children to explore the natural world, understand sustainable farming practices, and develop a deeper appreciation for the environment. Through regular visits to the farm, pupils will take part in planting, growing, and harvesting crops, as well as caring for animals. These experiences foster responsibility, teamwork, and healthy living habits.

Additionally, participation in the project supports the development of key life skills. Children will learn about healthy eating, food production, and the importance of biodiversity. The outdoor learning environment contributes to positive mental health and wellbeing, providing a calm and nurturing space for pupils to thrive.

Our involvement in the Doon Social Farm project also strengthens community ties, allowing pupils to collaborate with local organisations. We believe this partnership will have lasting benefits, helping to cultivate future generations who are environmentally conscious and socially responsible.

We look forward to sharing updates on our journey with the Doon Social Farm and celebrating the growth—both personal and collective—that it brings to our school community. Follow us on our socials for weekly updates!!!
